Marco is leading data science activities at Bloom Technologies, a digital health startup using wearable technology and data analytics to improve prenatal healthcare. Marco is also finalizing his Ph.D. in applied machine learning at Eindhoven University of Technology where he’s been working on developing new models for personalized assessment of physical activity and cardiorespiratory fitness. He obtained his M.Sc. degree summa cum laude in Computer Science Engineering in 2010 and since then he has been working at the intersection of health and technology. Starting in 2012, Marco has been developing mobile apps using the phone’s sensors to provide unique insights on the user’s physiological status (such as heart rate variability) without the need for external hardware, with special focus on sports-related applications at HRV4Training.
